About

Tristan Finazzo supports strategic communications for NASA's Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstration (EPFD) project and its goal of realizing the world's first MW-class hybrid electric aircraft. He is currently working to document the history of electrified aircraft propulsion (EAP) at NASA. He holds master's degrees in Global Journalism and East Asian Studies from NYU.

Professionally, he has tested air filters in Beijing alleys, interviewed North Korean defectors in Seoul, and published research on Arctic development, commercial satellites, and geopolitics in Asia.

Amateurishly, he has sung and danced on Chinese national television, climbed a volcano on the North Korean border, and garnered momentary fame with select Youtube remixes, found here.

Now, he is focused on unearthing stories that transcend languages and inspire the leaders of a sustainable future. He spends his free time reading, hiking, writing, and pretending to be knowledgeable about astrophysics.

Tristan is a member of DarkSky International, a non-profit dedicated to protecting the nighttime environment and reducing light pollution.
